Spices that you can use for food and health

Cinnamon
Cinnamon is packed with natural antioxidants.
You can use cinnamon in combination with honey which is a natural antibiotic
to fight the flu, strep throat, or a common cold.
It helps fight cardiovascular problems, helps for insulin to work better to
reduce blood sugar levels. Cinnamon may also help to prevent Alzheimer's.

You can use cinnamon together with honey for a powerful antibiotic. Honey
is a stock worthy item. Choose honey from small bee farmers, local is best
as honey can help you during allergy season.


Sage
Sage can be made into a tea and used for upset stomachs, sore throats
and cognitive health.

For a tincture pack a quart jar full of fresh sage and add enough virgin
olive oil to cover. close the lid tight and let it sit for a week.
For quick relief boil gently in water for tea.

Cayenne Pepper
Can help improve circulation, Use it in a homemade salve to help
relieve aches and soreness, improve heart health,
helps fight prostate cancer and ulcers.

Cayenne powder is easy to make at home. It is just a matter of how you dry
the peppers. And mask and gloves are 100% needed in the making of powdered pepper,
and I strongly suggest both while handling. Once you get it on the skin, it gets
everywhere.. before you know it everything is on fire.
it is however good to have some at home.

For a salve-
You can either mix a teaspoon into a cup of lotion and use it that way
or make a homemade salve.

to make homemade-
1/4 oz beeswax
1/8 teaspoon vitamin E oil
1 tablespoon cayenne pepper

melt the beeswax on low heat till melted, take off heat and add the
 other two ingredients.
You may also add essential oils 5 drops each of
peppermint oil- which works like an aspirin on the skin. Peppermint oil helps
reduce pain in sore muscles.
and wintergreen oil which is anti-inflammatory.


Ginger
can be used in several different ways as well. Upset stomach, gas, bloating,
sore throat, colds, arthritis and motion sickness.

Turmeric
This is the absolute best to carry with you, or to plant in you're garden.
Turmeric Is an antioxidant, anti inflammatory, antibacterial and a pain reliever.
It is equal to over the counter ibuprofen.
Turmeric can be used in food, as a tea, a tincture or a hand wash.

Oregano
Antiviral, antibacterial, antioxidant, and antibiotic. the oil and leaves are
used medicinally for treating cough, fever and congestion body aches and other
illnesses. The leaves of the oregano plant can be applied to wounds to help
prevent infection.

You can make a tincture out of Oregano by taking fresh leaves and packing them
into a mason or other jar and covering them with either 80 proof vodka or 100%
virgin olive oil and letting it sit for a week.

For use right away, make a tea.
